GRASS RANGE, Mont., Oct. 13 (UPI) -- A Montana man taking video of a den of rattlesnakes temporarily lost his GoPro when one of the serpents struck the camera and it fell into the pit of snakes.

Michael Delaney posted a video to YouTube showing what happened when he tried to take footage of a rattlesnake den in the Grass Range area.

The video, shot by a GoPro camera at the end of a stick, shows multiple snakes slithering over one another in the pit until one of them strikes the camera, causing it to fall into the pile of venomous predators.

The video ends after Delaney uses a hockey stick to fish his camera out of the snake pit.

"Just got done cleaning the venom off my GoPro," Delaney said in a Facebook post.
