ORANGEVILLE, Ill., July 1 (UPI) -- A deceased Illinois bovine formerly known as the tallest living cow has been posthumously dubbed the tallest cow ever by Guinness World Records.

Guinness said Blosom, a 74.8-inch-tall Orangeville cow dubbed the tallest living cow last year, has been dubbed the tallest-ever cow by Guinness after further investigation.

Patty Meads-Hanson, owner of the female Holstein cow, welcomed the news that Blosom will still have a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

"The funny thing about Blosom was how unaffected she was by all the attention that seemed to surround her," Meads-Hanson told Guinness. "As long as she had her oats, and daily chin rubs and ear scratches, life was good."

Meads-Hanson said last year Blosom was unable to have calves of her own, but she served an important role as the "official greeter" of her farm.
