The video, posted to YouTube by Kirstin C., shows the man, identified in the video's title as Ali, holding the sword outside his Vancouver home and preparing to slice through the watermelon, which is on a glass patio table. Advertisement The man's ambitions do not earn him any rebuke from onlookers, but a voice can be heard saying "I knew that would happen," after the glass tabletop shatters. Ali said in a Reddit post he was "stone sober" but had "been working in the sun all day" when he decided he "wanted to cut something with a sword." He said his scimitar stunt ruined his wife's table, but it didn't ruin snack time. "That watermelon was still tasty," he wrote.
