Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 28 (UPI) -- Two men filmed themselves paddle-boarding alongside great white sharks off the California coast on Friday. On Saturday, Courtney Hemerick of Aliso Viejo uploaded the video, titled "Great White Sharks Surfing," to YouTube. Advertisement Hemerick and Joseph Trucksess of San Clemente can be seen moving slowly on stand-up paddle boards next to juvenile great whites measuring 4 to 7 feet in length. Hemerick uses his GoPro camera to film the sharks above and below water, sometimes getting within inches of the creatures. Hemerick uploaded a similar June 19 video of himself filming sharks in the same area. About 10 of the sharks have been spotted in waters around the beach for the past few months, according to the Orange County Register. Experts say the young sharks are feeding on stingrays near the shore and will likely not attack humans, but lifeguards advised beach-goers to avoid the animals. Similar videos from around the world have emerged in recent weeks, including a New York state man's footage of a great white shark circling his fishing boat and feasting on the carcass of a dead whale and GoPro video of a surfer in Australia being circled by a great white as he desperately paddles for shore.
