Chinese cabbie drives taxi down three flights of stairs

The green cab driver has been dubbed "wayward taxi driver" on Chinese social media after driving his taxi down the outdoor stairs at Sichuan Vocational College.

CHENGDU, China, June 19 (UPI) -- A taxi driver who apparently got confused on a Chengdu, China, college campus became a viral star when he decided to drive his cab down three flights of stairs.

The cabbie, dubbed "wayward taxi driver" by admirers on Chinese social media, was recorded driving his green cab down three flights of concrete stairs on the Sichuan Vocational College campus after apparently becoming lost at the school.

Students at the college pleaded with him to wait for a tow truck driver to come help him, but the man continued to drive down the stairs until he reached the bottom, where he sped off with a few new dents and a dragging bumper.

The taxi's license plate fell off on the stairs and the driver declined to go back for it.
