DUBLIN, Ireland, May 27 (UPI) -- An Irish woman recording a hailstorm for her mother said she fell to the ground when she recorded a close-up shot of a bolt of lightning.

Nicola Duffy, a teacher at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown in Dublin, said she was recording the hailstorm for her weather-loving mother May 18 when a bolt of lightning struck on the opposite side of the courtyard where she was filming.

Duffy, whose video was posted to YouTube, said the lightning was so bright and loud she thought it might be an explosion or an object falling out of the sky. She said she fell to the ground from the shock of the incident.

There was no noticeable damage from the lightning strike, Duffy said.
