HOBART, Australia, May 21 (UPI) -- Visitors to the River Derwent in Australia captured photos and videos of bioluminescent phytoplankton making the water glow electric blue at night.

Photographers visiting beaches in the area around Hobart, Tasmania, first captured images of the dinoflagellates, a type of single-celled phytoplankton nicknamed Sea Sparkles, making the water turn electric blue when disturbed Sunday night.

Lisa-Ann Gershwin, an Australian jellyfish expert, visited the South Arm peninsula to observe the phenomenon.

"It was the most wondrous sight imaginable," she told the Australian Broadcasting Corp. "I've seen a lot of bioluminescence in the past 25 years and this is the best I've ever seen."

Haven't been posting here as much as i should, here are a few from a few nights back capturing the amazing Bioluminance action
