NEW YORK, May 6 (UPI) -- Authorities in New York said workers at a Brooklyn cemetery discovered a casket containing bones and trash dumped on the street.

Investigators discovered bones and trash inside the casket. The Office of the Medical Examiner was contacted to determine whether the bones belonged to a human.

Evergreens workers said there do not appear to be any disturbed graves on the grounds.

Police said the incident is being investigated as a "commercial dumping."
