Texas city councilman's mic stays on during bathroom break

GEORGETOWN, Texas, May 4 (UPI) -- A Texas city official's speech to the city council about deadly infectious diseases was interrupted by the bathroom noises of a councilman who forgot to turn off his microphone.

Rachael Jonrowe, mayor pro tem for Georgetown, was speaking to the council about antibiotic-resistant infectious diseases when she was interrupted by the sound of a councilman urinating and flushing a toilet while his mic was still live in the restroom.

Jonrowe struggled to finish her speech and repeatedly broke into laughter, most notably when the councilman flushed the toilet.

The unsuspecting official came back into the room and took his seat. where a colleague appeared to inform him of his breach of decorum.
