POWYS, Wales, April 21 (UPI) -- A Wales farmer says the five-legged lamb born on her property last Thursday is happy and healthy.

"He seems really happy, he's feeding well and bouncing around like a normal lamb," Bethan Davies, of Rhiwlas Farm in Powys, told BBC News. "He is doing really well."

Lambs with deformities often die shortly after birth. But Davies told the Daily Post that the lamb is acting "perfectly normal."

"He's running around in the fields and jumping on his mother. In fact he seems to be thriving," Davies said.

The family has named the lamb "Jake," after the comedy song, "Jake the Peg," about a three-legged man. Jake will be kept as a family pet.
