GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 13 (UPI) -- A peregrine falcon narrowly missed becoming a TV star Monday when it got up close and personal with a news camera mounted on a Michigan building.

The falcon was recorded checking out the WXMI-TV camera mounted to The River House building in Grand Rapids during the morning news Monday morning, but the falcon missed its TV debut by flying away from the traffic monitoring camera before the broadcast returned from its commercial break.

An eagle with a similar penchant for skyscrapers became a viral star last month when its flight from the top of Dubai's Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, was recorded by a camera mounted to its back.
