Idaho responders rescue 11 ducklings from storm drain

Boise police said the ducklings were rescued Monday with the help of the Boise Fire Department, the Idaho Humane Society and concerned citizens.

BOISE, Idaho, April 1 (UPI) -- Police in Boise, Idaho, shared pictures of emergency responders rescuing a family of ducklings from a storm drain under the watchful eye of the mother duck.

The police department said the operation, which included Boise police officers, firefighters, Idaho Humane Society rescuers and concerned citizens, resulted in the successful rescue of 11 ducklings from a city storm drain Monday.

Pictures shared by police on Facebook show the concerned mother duck watching while the human rescuers removed the drain cover and extracted her babies.
