CHICAGO, March 31 (UPI) -- Photos of a disabled car on a Chicago bridge's bike path that appears to be inaccessible to motor vehicles is sparking speculation online.

The car was photographed Monday morning with a busted front wheel on the bike path of a Lake Shore Drive bridge near Navy Pier, and Reddit Chicago users familiar with the area said it would have been difficult, if not impossible, for the car to reach its current location without hopping a guardrail.

A photo of a city inspector investigating the scene was taken Monday by photographer Ronit Bezalel, but authorities did not release any information about the car or how it came to be in the middle of the bike path.

"How did this even happen?" Bezalel said on Twitter.

Reddit users said the area before where the car was found appears to be too narrow for the vehicle to fit through, leading to speculation it was driven up to the bridge from the harbor area or somehow managed to drive over a railing or metal gate to reach the path.
