"Dolly has become the youngest archer," Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, an official with the record-keeping organization, told The Wall Street Journal. "The record will be tough to break."

Cherukuri Satyanarayana, the girl's father, said she comes from a family of archers. Her late brother, Lenin Cherukuri, coached the Indian archery team for the Commonwealth Games prior to his death in 2010.

"We are all very proud of her. We are very impressed," Archery Association of India official Gunjan Abrol told the BBC.

Satyanarayana said Dolly's next goal is to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records and eventually compete in the Commonwealth Games.
