YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo., March 4 (UPI) -- A man taking video of Buffalo at Yellowstone National Park in the northwestern United States captured the moment a speeding buffalo rammed his SUV head-on.

Tom Carter, who posted the video to YouTube, said he and friend Suzie Hollingsworth were driving through the park's Lamar Valley in February when they stopped to film a group of buffalo moving toward them up the road.

One of the buffalo charged head-on into the Nissan Xterra, and Carter can be heard shouting "Don't run into our car!" right before the impact.

Carter, a former Yellowstone tour guide, said he believes the animals were upset by other cars in the area.

"There is a line of cars that is chasing the buffalo. Park regulations say you should not harass the wildlife and really what they should have done once they agitated the three buffalo is they should have given them space. But they did not," he told USA Today.

Carter said the damage to Hollingsworth's sport-utility vehicle came out to about $2,788. He posted a second video showing the damage from the buffalo impact.

The amateur photographer said the buffalo got off easier than the Nissan -- the animal walked away, seemingly uninjured.
