MANTUA, Italy, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- A pair of Italian brothers posted a video to YouTube showing off the monster 280-pound catfish they caught and released in the River Po.

Twin brothers Dino and Dario Ferrari said they spent 40 minutes battling the fish Feb. 19 and they believe the giant catfish, which fell short of the 298-pound record caught in 2010, was the largest ever caught while spin fishing, a technique using artificial bait.

"To fish these river giants, you must have patience and a lot of physical strength," he told Corriere.

The twins said they released the still-living fish back into the River Po after taking photos and video.
