Exploding Kittens game blows up on Kickstarter

NEW YORK, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Comic website The Oatmeal began a crowd-funded Kickstarter campaign to fund its new card game, Exploding Kittens.

The game is like UNO with the cartoon drawings from The Oatmeal. If a person draws a card with an exploding kitten, they are out of the game.

The campaign started Tuesday raised $700,000 in just a few hours and $1.7 million by Wednesday morning. The initial goal was $10,000.

"Sorry all inboxes are so flooded right now," said game creator Elan Lee when he was called by CNN.
