PIGEON FORGE, Tenn., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Cameras planted at a bald eagle nest in Florida recorded the Christmas Day hatching of an eaglet while the newborn's parents observed.

The American Eagle Foundation, the Tennessee nonprofit that planted cameras at the nest of a mated eagle pair dubbed Romeo and Juliet, said the Christmas Day hatching took place two days after the eaglet's sibling hatched on camera in the northeast Florida nest.

The foundation's cameras can be viewed on its website, eagles.org, and footage of the hatchings was posted to YouTube.

The foundation said a contest will be held in the coming weeks to name the newborn avians.
