Helmet cam captures cyclist's crash with deer

Silas Patlove said he suffered a minor concussion from the collision.

SAUSALITO, Calif., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- A California man wearing a helmet camera while out for a ride near the Golden Gate Bridge captured the dramatic moment he collided with a deer.

Silas Patlove, 40, said he was riding Sunday near Sausalito when the deer jumped over a guardrail and he collided with the animal while riding at about 28 mph.

Patlove said he landed on his back and suffered a mild concussion from the incident.

"I am very grateful to have escaped feeling only a little banged up," Patlove posted in a description of the video on YouTube.

It was unclear whether the deer was injured in the crash.
