AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- A monster truck reached a speed of 99.1 mph on a Texas racetrack to break the Guinness World Record for monster truck speed.

The Raminator, a Ram Trucks-sponsored monster truck, was taken for a spin around the track at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin by driver Mark Hall and the vehicle reached a speed of 99.1 mph, taking the Guinness record for monster truck speed away from the Aaron's Outdoors monster truck, which reached 96.8 mph when driven by Randy Moore in North Carolina in 2012.
