Authorities said two people, the owner of a Milan logistics company and an employee, were arrested in October and charged with stealing the chocolates with the intention of reselling them.

Police discovered 22 tons of Lindor chocolates in a warehouse in Sezze, between Rome and Naples, in a raid following the arrest.

Investigators said 209 tons of the stolen chocolates are still missing. The total worth of the pilfered treats was estimated at about $10 million.
