LONDON, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A British survey has named Monty Python song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" as the country's most-requested funeral tune.

For the first time ever, the song, from Life of Brian, topped a regular poll conducted by Britain's Co-operative Funeral Care.

The goofy diddy took over the spot held by Frank Sinatra's "My Way" for more than a decade. In fact, "My Way" was bumped down to the No. 5 spot.

The results of the poll came from information from 30,000 funerals held in Britain.

"The data shows how humor, anthems from the football terraces, film and TV scores and, poignant pop songs are evoking emotions and providing the soundtrack to people's lives, making up 60 percent of the ten most popular choices and ahead of many traditional hymns and classical compositions," a news release from Co-operative Funeral Care said.

Rounding out the top 10 most played funeral songs in Britain are: "The Lord is My Shepherd" at No. 2, "Abide With Me" at No. 3, "Match of the Day" at No. 4, "All Things Bright and Beautiful" at No. 6, "Angels" by Robbie Williams at No. 7, "Enigma Variations (Nimrod)" by Elgar at No. 8, "You'll Never Walk Alone" by Gerry and the Pacemakers at No. 9, and "Cricket Theme/Soul Limbo" by Booker T. & the MG's at No. 10.
