TROMSO, Norway, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A pair of Norwegian men out fishing for herring captured video of six humpback whales rising out of the water to surround their boat.

Svein Aasjord and Trond Ivarso were fishing for herring Nov. 8 near Kvaloya, which translates to "Whale Island," when their boat was surrounded by thousands of tiny bubbles.

Aasjord told TV2 the bubbles made it seem as if the boat was floating "in a glass of cola."

The video shows the men laughing at the bubbles before being startled by the breaching whales narrowly avoiding their boat.

"I felt very confident afterwards, whales have much more control than I had thought," Aasjord said. "But it still took time before my pulse was down to normal again."
