LAUDERHILL, Fla., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- A convicted robber and former alligator owner with a luxury car logo tattooed on his forehead was sentenced to over a year in prison for identity theft Friday.

Derek Denesevich, 26, has several face tattoos, the centerpiece being the logo for Bentley, a British luxury automaker. The Lauderhill native was given just one year and three months in prison by a judge in Broward County, Fla., for stealing drivers' identities and committing tax fraud.

Denesevich helped police build a case against six other suspects by wearing a wire, which resulted in a reduction in his sentence by at least three years.

The Sun Sentinel reports that with the help of a former Broward Clerk of Courts employee, the group was able to steal 1,200 identities in 2011 and 2012. Denesevich admitted to authorities that he filed 80 tax returns using the information, netting him $57,238.

Denesevich's rap sheet includes robbery, drug and firearm offenses and illegal alligator possession. He fled to Canada in 2012, but returned to South Florida after his son -- whose middle name is "Bentley" -- was born.

Denesevich reports to prison on Dec. 12. He allegedly has a portrait of his own face with the Bentley tattoo etched into his back. He said that he is a "fan of all things Bentley," but that he plans to have his facial markings removed.

Earlier this month, a man with a Patriots helmet tattooed on his skull was arrested in Florida for synthetic marijuana possession.
