KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 23 (UPI) -- A Missouri lingerie shop owner said Homeland Security agents seized dozens of pairs of panties she made to support the Kansas City Royals.

Peregrine Honig, owner of Honig's Birdies Panties in Kansas City, said her Lucky Royals panties were supposed to go on sale Tuesday, but Homeland Security agents came to the store Monday and informed her she was violating the baseball team's copyright by connecting the "K" and "C" on the logo she designed for the undergarments.

"They told me they were from Homeland Security and we were violating copyright laws," she said of the agents.

The offending logo appears alongside the message "Take the Crown," a show of support for the team, which is currently facing the San Francisco Giants in the World Series.

Honig said the agents confiscated dozens of pairs of panties and had her sign a statement pledging not to use the logo in the future.

"It was disappointing. I didn't really believe we were going to make a lot of money, it was more just for the fun, the enthusiasm, it was for the pride in our team and our city," store employee Danielle Meister told KCTV.

The store said customers who preordered the panties online will have their money refunded.

A post on Honig's Facebook page shows she is working on an alternate panty design bearing the phrase, "Royal Tease."
