Watch: TV weatherman struggles with playful dog

Mike Sobel was trying to give the weather forecast, but canine Ripple decided it was playtime instead.

EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- An Alberta weather forecaster's on-air struggle with a boisterous canine has gone viral online and brought in offers to adopt the dog.

Ripple, a 1-year-old shepherd-mastiff mix, was on a leash held by Global Edmonton weather specialist Mike Sobel during the Wednesday morning forecast last week. While Sobel was attempting to give the weather, Ripple was attempting to lure the weatherman into playing with him.

Sobel's unsuccessful struggle to control Ripple during his forecast elicited laughs from on the set. The video has gone viral online.

The Edmonton Humane Society, which brought Ripple onto the news broadcast to represent adoptable dogs, said there have been several offers to adopt the canine since his big moment on the air.
