THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Firefighters said they used jackhammers and dish soap to free a home invasion suspect who turned out to be less skilled than Santa Claus at chimney climbing.

Capt. Renee Ferguson of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said firefighters responded about 5:45 a.m. Sunday to a report of a woman being stuck about 8 feet from the top of a Thousand Oaks chimney for about two hours.

Firefighters used a jackhammer to remove some bricks from the chimney and they used dish soap to lubricate the flue before pulling the woman to safety.

"Four firefighters on the roof captured her hands and grabbed her under the arms and lifted her straight on out," fire Capt. Ron Oatman told the Los Angeles Times.

The woman, identified as Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa, 30, was arrested on charges of illegally entering a residence and providing false information to a peace officer.

The home's resident told investigators he had met Nunez-Figueroa online and they had gone on a few dates. However, he said she had not been invited to drop by via his chimney or otherwise.
