DARWIN, Australia, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- An Australian barbershop famous for its lingerie-clad hairdressers announced it has obtained a license to serve beer to its clients.

Rima Stafford, owner of the Sexy Scissors salon in Darwin, said the business has been granted a liquor license and each customer over the age of 18 will now be receiving a complimentary beer with their appointment.

"We allow a maximum of two beverages per client per day, but they will have to buy the second one," Stafford said.

She said the beverage selection will also include wine "for the ladies."

Stafford said adding beer to the salon's service seemed like a logical step.

"Knowing Darwin in the wet season, it's nice to have a nice cool drinks after a hot day while getting a haircut, it makes it a relaxing service," she said. "We've been granted the first and only liquor license for a barber shop in Darwin but it's not to take business away from pubs."

"It's just a unique service in Darwin and the license means we are monitored and governed to do the right thing," Stafford said.
