PARIS, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Paris police said a burglar racked up his 88th arrest after an alleged victim spotted her husband's watch for sale online.

Investigators said the woman tipped police off when she spotted the pilfered watch for sale on the Internet and the discovery led them to a man in his 50s who has been arrested 87 previous times in connection with burglaries in Paris.

Police said the man would use master keys to enter apartment buildings and would then force open mailboxes until he found keys to the unit he would then burglarize.

The suspect was taken to the Fleury-Merogis prison on burglary charges and police are trying to identify the owners of seized items including watches, purses, pens, electronics and cufflinks.
