TAOYUAN , Taiwan, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- The Dutch artist famous for his traveling giant rubber duck is unveiling his latest creation, a giant white rabbit, during a festival in Taiwan.

Florentijn Hofman, whose giant sculpture Rubber Duck has visited 23 cities in 12 countries, created an 82-foot-tall white rabbit sculpture inspired in part by the Chinese legend of Chang'e and Jade Rabbit, China Daily reported.

The sculpture was first glimpsed Tuesday during a preview of the Taoyuan Land Arts Festival at the former Taoyuan Naval Base and will officially meet the public Thursday, organizers said.

The artist created his latest piece from waterproof paper, wood and styrofoam to help it survive the various weather conditions it might experience in Taiwan.
