ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Casino officials and local authorities in New Jersey are investigating the disappearance of nearly $21,000 in cash after the security company responsible for transporting the money left it on the roof of an armored truck.

On August 6, representatives from GradaWorld, a Boston-based security company, loaded cash from the Revel Casino Hotel into an armored truck for secure deposit. A bag containing nearly $21,000 was left on the roof of the truck, however, and is now missing.

Survellience footage shows the truck pull out of Revel's porte cochere with the bag still on its roof, where it remained at least until the truck's next pickup at Resorts Atlantic City just over five minutes away. Footage from Resorts' security shows the bag still on the truck's roof as it pulls onto Pennsylvania Ave. toward Route 40, its last documented whereabouts. It remains unclear where the bag eventually fell off.

"We are cooperating with the authorities in investigating this incident," Joe Gavaghan, director of corporate communications for GradaWorld, told the Press of Atlantic City. "[We] cannot provide any additional details."
