MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A 71-year-old Michigan man was picked up in Mount Pleasant after he allegedly went on a graffiti spree.

Douglas Browning was picked up and charged with one count of malicious destruction of property to a building and one misdemeanor count of malicious destruction of property to personal property after the alleged artistic rampage.

According to Mt. Pleasant Police Public Information Officer Jeff Brown, officers caught Browning in the act.

"They actually drove up on him tagging a Charter Communications box," Browne told MLive. "He's a habitual; he's done this once before."

In his tags, Browning referenced the Crips and Bloods in both positive and negative ways. He also wrote harmful statements about "police, gays, the pope and Jesus."

Browning misspelled Crips on several occasions, writing "Crypts" instead, Morning Sun News reported.

"He's the furthest thing you would think of as being a Blood or Crip," Browne said.
