Instead of handing out hundreds of citations, police from seven agencies opted to simply contain the "rave."
Authorites were also wary that the partygoers, many of whom were allegedly engaging in hard drug use and underage drinking, would not be receptive to their presence.
"We were so outnumbered," Mecosta County Sheriff Todd Purcell told MLive. "We had information they were not in a cop-friendly attitude."

"I didn't force anything down anyone's throat," 20-year-old party organizer, Taylor, told FOX 17. "I didn't make anyone stay here until 7 a.m. or 11 a.m. or whenever it is that everyone finally left. I didn't make this kid pass out on my floor. People wanted to be here. That was their decision."
