TILLICUM, Wash., July 28 (UPI) -- A Washington soldier claims that a worker at a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant put something special in his order -- and it wasn't extra hot sauce.

U.S. Army Major Tony Wingfield went to a Popeyes near Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tillicum and pulled into the drive-thru. After ordering his food, Wingfield asked an employee at the counter if he could add another item to his order.

The counterperson allegedly gave Wingfield a somewhat sarcastic response and seemed "irritated."

When Wingfield returned to the base with chicken and a drink but without the additional item, things took a turn for the worse. "Within moments of eating, I just started retching," Wingfield told KATU.

After he examined his food, Wingfield claims he discovered that his drink was spiked with something resembling a wet napkin. "And when I pull the napkin out, I realize it's not a napkin. It's an anti-microbial wet wipe, and there's two of them in there," he said.

Wingfield headed to the hospital and reported the incident to Lakewood Police. He is also seeking an apology and wants the worker fired.

"If she did it to me, it could be happening to other soldiers because their main source of business is the soldiers of JBLM," he said.

The restaurant is reviewing footage of the incident.
