SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash., July 21 (UPI) -- A Washington man who was making himself right at home on a stranger's couch was arrested for investigation of criminal trespassing after he refused to leave the cushy piece of furniture or stop slugging whiskey.

George Martin is accused of somehow getting into a Spokane Valley home and scaring two teens who walked in to find him sitting watching television and drinking "from a large bottle of whiskey."

The teens grabbed a knife, went into the basement and called 911.

When law enforcement officials arrived, the 44-year-old told them that he believed he "was at a Spokane address more than 10 miles away to meet someone named 'Jeanie.'" KOMO reported.

The suspect wasn't sure how he got into the house and said he may have "shimmied through" a window. Upon closer inspection, that seemed unlikely because the window in question was sealed up with duct tape.
