IOWA CITY , Neb., July 10 (UPI) -- This sounds like it may have been a slight overreaction...

A Nebraska man was arrested and charged with aggravated misdemeanor assault while displaying a dangerous weapon after he allegedly threatened to cut off the head of an Iowa City bar employee.

Police responded to TCB Pool Hall after receiving complaints that an intoxicated patron was harassing bar staff. Workers told police that Daniel Simmons refused to leave the bar and resisted to the point that someone called 911.

The 25-year-old then allegedly "pulled out a pocket knife and threatened to cut off the individual's head," the Iowa Press-Citizen reported.

When Simmons did finally leave the establishment, three police officers arrested him after he was identified by TCB Pool Hall staff members.

According to police, Simmons' post-arrest blood-alcohol content was .253.

In addition to the assault charge, Simmons is also facing misdemeanor counts for trespassing, interference with official acts, public intoxication and obstruction of emergency communications.

It is unclear if he is a Game of Thrones fan.
