WASHINGTON, July 8 (UPI) -- Secret Service agents arrested an Alabama man who allegedly posted videos on his Facebook page where he wore an "Uncle Sam" hat and threatened President Obama's life.
Deryke Pfeifer was arrested on a felony complaint charge. He is currently behind bars and prosecutors will attempt to keep it that way by denying him bail at a hearing prior to the start of a criminal trial.
In addition to allegedly posting threatening videos on Facebook, the feds allege that the 54-year-old suspect placed menacing calls to the Federal Protective Service.
According to the Smoking Gun, Pfeifer claimed he was "speaking for God" in a July 3 video and said he was "going to kill Obama for turning on him."
In a video where Pfeifer is seen with "what appears to be a Glock pistol in his lap," he tells Obama that "I just let you see that to let you know that I got it," according to a U.S. District Court criminal complaint.
During an interview after his arrest with Secret Service agent Marcus Shumack, Pfeifer reportedly said, "God told him that God was going to destroy Obama and everything around him."
