DELAND, Fla., July 8 (UPI) -- A Florida couple called 911 over the weekend after their "freaked out" cat attacked and trapped them in their bedroom in DeLand.

Teresa and James Gregory called police after they arrived home and were attacked by Kush, their 4-year-old Russian Blue cat. According to the couple, the feline has never had any shots or vaccinations.

"She tore me and my husband up, 'cause we left her in the bathroom all day, so I let her out and she was OK. Then, she saw my husband and she freaked," Teresa said during the call.

"I got her out of the bedroom, and now she's in my living room and I can't get out. She's got us trapped in our bedroom. We just need her out of our house. We don't know what to do."

DeLand Animal Control officers eventually arrived and took the cat. Kush will be quarantined for at least 10 days

The Gregorys suffered scratches to their legs and hands, although they declined medical attention.

The Gregorys are also not the first couple to be trapped by their own cat. In March, an Oregon couple called 911 when their 22-pound Himalayan cat went on a "rampage," attacking their baby and trapping them in a bedroom.
