MANISTEE COUNTY , Mich., June 6 (UPI) -- A Michigan father has a new hero in life -- his 4-year-old son.

Grant Groenwald was chopping wood behind his Manistee County home when he got stuck under a tree.

"I cut, shot out the limb I was cutting shot out from underneath it and this whole thing came rolling down on top of me," Groenwald said.

Groenwald's shoulder and elbow were injured in the accident and he was completely pinned down. Luckily, his son Quillan was nearby.

"I said Quillan, you need to help daddy, daddy's trapped. And he says, I can't daddy, I just can't, there's no way I can," Groenwald told 9&10 News.

Despite what he said, Quillan was able to drag a heavy chainsaw 30 feet to his dad. "I was able to finish cutting it and then once it popped off, once I got that one cut all the way through, I was able to get my foot picked up out of there," Groenwald said.

His left ankle was broken in the accident, but it could have been much worse were it not for Quillan's heroics.
