GRANITE FALLS, Wash., June 4 (UPI) -- A 33-year-old suspect, who led police on a chase for more than an hour while driving an allegedly stolen RV, wasn't able to escape the long arm of the law, despite a valiant attempt to change his appearance.

The Washington man took off from Everett in the mobile home on Tuesday evening, police followed him for more than an hour before he crashed into several cars and a home in Granite Falls.

After hitting the house, the driver tried to flee on foot through other neighborhood homes -- and ditched his clothes in the process.

"We were hanging out here and someone went running through the house in his underwear," witness Bryan Crabtree told KIRO. "He said he was running from the cops and needed clothes, and we said no."

Deputies were able to locate the suspect, but not before he was able to find a woman's t-shirt and jeans inside. That was the outfit the unnamed man wore during his booking at the Snohomish County Jail.

"He started putting on girl clothes," a witness told KOMO. "And then the cops came and grabbed him and brought him out and he was still wearing the girl clothes."
