Hunter blasted with shotgun after his cousin mistook him for a wild turkey

Glenn Ranfos' bald head may have given his cousin an itchy trigger finger.

DUNBARTON, N.H., May 13 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire hunter may not be inviting his cousin to Thanksgiving this year after he was mistaken for a wild turkey during a hunting accident in the woods in Dunbarton.

Glenn Ranfos now has five BBs lodged in his body, including one in his spleen, after his hunting partner of 40 years, Kenneth Ranfos, shot him from 30 yards away.

The 57-year-old had just killed a turkey of his own when his cousin shot him. "And I had this eerie feeling," Ranfos told CBS Boston. "I turned around and the gun was pointing at me."

It is being speculated that Ranfos' bald head may have had something to do with causing his cousin's mistake.

"I instantly started bleeding from the forehead," Ranfos said. "And I could feel penetration on my side and I stood up and said to Kenny 'you shot me' and he was in disbelief. He really thought he shot a turkey."

The pair might not be able to remain hunting partners for much longer as Ranfos' cousin could be losing his hunting license and he may face criminal charges.

"I feel lucky that Kenny wasn't a great shot," Ranfos said. "He made an honest mistake."
