Lego makes replica of Fenway Park for Legoland opening

The baseball season opened this week and the Red Sox hold a 2-1 record as of Friday afternoon.

BOSTON, April 4 (UPI) -- In honor of the opening of Legoland Discovery Center in Boston, the company constructed a replica of Fenway Park from Lego bricks.

The construction took 450 hours and 28,000 Lego bricks. The replica weigh 68 pounds and measures 12 square feet. The construction of the replica Fenway Park was captured in time-lapse video as workers built it in Legoland UK.

Fenway Park will be joined by other replicas of iconic Boston locations to be placed at the new Legoland Discover Center.

The center will open in Boston in May.
