April 1 (UPI) -- A Florida man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after he was found asleep at traffic light holding a half-eaten Taco Bell burrito early Monday morning.

Police were alerted about Daniel Hernandez’s situation by a witness who called 911 after observing the 36-year-old’s car drifting from side to side prior to stopping at the traffic light for 15 minutes. The witness saw “several cycles of the traffic light without Hernandez moving” and alerted the authorities.

When Volusia County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the car, they found Hernandez asleep at the wheel clutching the burrito with his foot on the brake and the engine of the car running, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.

Deputies broke into the car after banging on Hernandez’s window for 10 minutes and failing to wake him up. They then rubbed Hernandez’s sternum and tried “other means of stimulation” to wake him. After two to three minutes, he finally came to.

A breathalyzer test revealed that Hernandez’s BAC level was 0.177, more than twice the legal limit.
