Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe A creepy clown supposedly scaring Staten Islanders on the streets and making the rounds on social media may actually just be part of a publicity stunt. The clown, who has been photographed wearing a yellow clown suit, white puffy collar, red nose and face paint, has only been “seen” by a few people. Advertisement The Staten Island Advance reported that three of the people who posted images of the clown -- Vincent Innocente, Robert Privitera and Michael Leavy -- are all Facebook friends. The three men also have links to Staten Island-based Fuzz on the Lens Productions. Another man who put out a video of the clown, comedian Vic Dibitetto, also allegedly has ties to the company. Oh weird, the Staten Island clown thing is a promotional stunt. Who could've guessed?— Luke O'Neil (@lukeoneil47) March 25, 2014 "I think he's funny and this whole thing (is funny), so if people want to think it's me or whoever I won't stop them, maybe I should go get a clown suit though, hopefully they are not sold out,” Leavy told the Advance when he was asked it the clown was a hoax. Advertisement He admitted a little bit more when the Facebook link was mentioned. "It's a small island and we've been trying to get as many people associated with Fuzz on the Lens as possible," Leavy said.
