Three brown bear cubs were rescued from captivity in two homes in western Kosovo after they were seen on social media.

The 6-week-old cubs Emma, Oska, and Ron were taken from captivity after photos of the cubs were seen on Facebook and officials intervened. The three are suspected to be from the same mother and have been taken to a wildlife sanctuary where they will remain until they are old enough to be released into the wild.

Keeping wild animals as pets is illegal in Kosovo and brown bears are an endangered species there. No arrests have been made.
