A Florida homeowners association in Naples has told a community resident who won her battle with breast cancer 16 years ago that she must remove a pink ribbon that she has on display -- even though it is inside her entryway.

Linda Karp got a letter from the Regent's Park HOA informing her about the decision.

"Oh I'm very angry... These people are being outrageously unkind," Karp told WFTX. "The pink ribbon represents awareness.”

The station reached out to the HOA to try and determine what rule the ribbon was violating. The association declined to comment but provided WFTX with a copy of the association’s documents. According to the station, there was nothing in the documents indicating that the 3-year community resident couldn’t display the ribbon in the enclosed are outside her front door.

"I'm not offending anyone. My neighbors are all supportive of breast cancer I don't know why their not," Karp said. "It's on the inside of my entry-way."

After defeating cancer, Karp plans on winning this battle as well. "I want them to leave me alone. It's a pink ribbon... I'm not removing it," she said.
