BONITA SPRINGS, Fla., March 18 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said they arrested a woman accused of reaching into a vehicle and slapping the driver because he failed to move.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Stephen Jones, 56, of Bonita Springs, told deputies he was waiting to turn in the parking lot of a Publix store in Bonita Springs when the driver of the gold Lexus behind him began to honk her horn, the Fort Myers News-Press reported Tuesday.

Jones said he got out of his truck in an attempt to speak with the woman, but she and her male passenger both refused to open their windows.

Jones said he got back into his truck and the driver of the Lexus, identified as Eileen Nemeroff, 61, of Bonita Springs, then exited her vehicle, approached his truck and used profanity in her demand for him to move his vehicle.

Nemeroff then allegedly reached into his truck and slapped him, deputies said. Two witnesses at the scene supported Jones' version of events, the sheriff's office said.

Nemeroff was arrested at her home and charged with burglary including assault or battery. Deputies said the burglary charge resulted from her allegedly reaching into the man's truck.
