Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe BOCA RATON, Fla., March 10 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a man stole $11,000 worth of jewelry from his mother's employer so he could buy Valentine's gifts for his girlfriend. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said Ivan Robledo-Padilla, 18, of Boca Raton allegedly stole the $11,000 worth of jewelry, including a $7,000 Rolex watch, from a safe in the Wellington home his mother cleans, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Monday. Advertisement Investigators said the homeowner discovered the items were missing Feb. 28 and notified police, who were able to trace the jewelry through serial numbers and found Robledo-Padilla had sold some of the items at a pawn shop. Police said Robledo-Padilla received only $750 for the $7,000 Rolex. Robledo-Padilla, who allegedly stole the items to buy Valentine's Day gifts for his girlfriend, was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of false verification of ownership, three counts of dealing in stolen property, grand theft and burglary to an unoccupied dwelling. He was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail with bail set at $27,000.
