WINDORAH, Australia, March 7 (UPI) -- German tourist Daniel Dudzisz survived for 10 days by eating flies after getting stranded in the Australian Outback.
Dudzisz, 26, was on a backpacking trip from Windorah to Jundah when he became stranded on a patch of grass between two flooded rivers in the Outback. He carried several months of insulin with him because he has diabetes, and he did have a can of beans and some cereal. However, when those provisions ran out, Dudzisz had to resort to eating flies.
Authorities found Dudzisz after 10 days and said he was in good spirits when they found him but he was very hungry. Dudzisz wants to complete his trip but is going to take a safer path this time.
