PERM, Russia, March 7 (UPI) -- Russian police said they have detained a suspect in the 19-year-old case of an armed alcohol theft from a cargo truck.

Police said the man, whose name and age were not released, is believed to have been one of a group of people to carry out an armed robbery on a truck near the city of Perm in March 1995, RIA Novosti reported Friday.

The thieves made off with alcoholic beverages being transported by the truck, police said.

Police did not say how the man was detained or whether other members of the armed gang have been identified.
